Homeopathic medicines have been used for centuries as a gentle, natural healing method that work to stimulate your own body’s ability to heal. Material from nature, from plants, minerals and animals are used.
Homeopathic medicines are carefully prepared in a highly dilute form that have been developed in a way that utilises their healing properties without causing any harm to the person taking them. The main principle is to use the minimum amount of a substance to bring the body back to a state of balance & health.
Homeopathy dates back to the Nineteenth Century in Germany where is was developed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann and is now the second most widely used medicine in the world.
The choice of prescribed remedy is based on the Law of Similars. The Law of Similars states that what a substance can cause it can cure (Similia Similibus Currentur).
Once I have a picture of the patient as a whole I prescribe a medicine individual to that picture based on what you have told me at consultation. The remedy selected will have a picture that matches the picture of you as an individual patient.
After you take the remedy there should be a gradual improvement of your symptoms. Chronic problems often take longer to heal but some improvement is usually seen straight away. If you are on any medications from your GP it is recommended that you consulting your GP before you make any changes with them.
NB – In emergencies your first port of call is your GP or medical centre as homeopathy is a complement to, not a replacement for their services.
